Here you can find out about how we run things at Munchkins Day Nursery. We need your help to keep this organisation running as smoothly as possible!
The nurseries Before and After School Club takes and picks up children from local schools.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is how the Government and early years professionals describe the time in your child's life between birth and age 5. The framework sets the standards for learning, development and care. Nurseries, pre-schools, reception classes and childminders must follow the legal document called the EYFS Framework.
As well as our Before and After School Club the setting also offers a Holiday Club. The children that attend the Before and After School Club are given first refusal for a place in the school holidays however, we do offer places to children attending the Holiday Club only.
In the school holidays the children go out on exercursions such as Applejacks, Gullivers World and local parks. An additional fee is charged if payment is required to the gain entry to the parks.
The nursery has 3 fully insured 8 seater vehicles. These vehicles are used to take and pick the children up from school, trips and outings and swimming lessons. All staff that drive the vehicles have a full UK driving license.

Swimming Lessons are an optional facility at the nursery and spaces are limited. The children are taken in a nursery vehicle to the private swimming pool to take part in an half hour lesson each week. Two adults accompany six children each week to the swimming pool. An additional fee is required for this activity.
It's unavoidable that small children catch all kinds of minor infections. For a speedy recovery and to prevent the other children from falling ill, the nursery recommends that children who are unwell stay at home. If children fall ill whilst attending nursery we will inform parents immediadtely. The nursery can administrate medicine such as antibiotics (prior written consent is essential). If the disease is infectious, then children must not attend (the HPU guidelines offers advise to prevent the spread of infections).
